Premises Services Christmas Jumper Day

Premises Services at Shropshire Council are set to take their silliness very seriously for Christmas Jumper Day!

On Friday 16 December Premises Services at Shropshire Council will be putting on their warmest, wackiest and most wonderful festive woollies to raise money for Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day.

Silliness is set to sweep the nation as millions of people in schools, offices and homes up and down the country donate £2 to sport a festive sweater for the day. From technicolour festive knits festooned with reindeer antlers to balancing baubles, the best bit is that all this silliness has a serious purpose.

All money raised through this wacky woolly-wearing could help give a child living in a refugee camp clothes to keep them warm through winter, help buy nutritious food for their entire family, or set up a safe space to give children the chance to be children again. It’s a very silly way to solve some very serious problems!

Bethan Humphreys, Building Surveyor said: “Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day is always a work day to look forward too, it marks the start of the festive season for us as well as an opportunity to raise money and awareness for this worthy charity. Today we have Rudolph and Santa in the office as well as all the fun and awful Christmas Jumpers, I am sporting a smashing Game of Thrones ‘Let it Jon Snow’! Tonight we have our Christmas Party so everyone is already full of Christmas Cheer! ”

Neil Castle, Electrical Surveyor said: “I have always dreamt of being a reindeer, Christmas jumper day allowed my dream to come true”

Pete Brown Electrical Engineer said “I like being Santa as it justifies my size for one day of the year, pass the cake”.

Rob Leighton, Building Surveyor said: “I just wanted to join in the fun! My Christmas ties are more colourful than my jumper I promise!”

Steve Carpenter, Premises Services Manager said “It’s great, I feel like a giant Elf just for one day” (Steve is vertically challenged)!

Darren Milner, Land Surveyor said: “I Love taking elfies of work colleagues in their Christmas Jumpers”

Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day is fun, easy to organise and everyone can be part of it. To find out more and sign up, visit www.christmasjumperday.org.
